In 1995  the Switch Support Group began its Meetings at the  Uniting Church Bracken Ridge, Brisbane Queensland. This was due in main to the efforts of the late Wally Claydon, John Morgan and Bill Eaton. And although the group had many other members and supporters the groups setup was due mainly to the hard work and dedication of these gentlemen.

With the support of BOC gasses, SWITCH was able to supply on site oxygen for  members and, over the years, we have been able to purchase more concentrators and can now provide for up to six users.

As a group, Switch has been proactive in trying to pressure the State Government into supplying portable oxygen. We have been successful in getting this topic aired on the ABC Stateline program and the Sunday mail however we have not yet won this battle. Switch will keep on lobbying the State government for the introduction of free portable oxygen.

It is our hope that this site will help reach people that have no access to a support group.  We are also please to be able to offer help to other support group in the Brisbane area with any advertising of special advents or seminars. We have also made our bi- monthly newsletter available online.
